Google today released the Android 5.1.1 factory images for the Wi-Fi only 2012 and 2013 Nexus 7 along with the Nexus 10.

The company also seems to have started rolling out the OTA update for the Nexus 10. The OTA update for the Nexus 7 is still not rolling out, so if you own a Nexus 7 and cannot wait to try out the latest version of Lollipop on it, feel free to download and install the factory image manually.

The factory images for the 3G variant of the Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013) have not been released yet, and if Google’s past track record is anything to by, these factory images are not going to pop up anytime soon.

It is strange to see Google updating its previous generations Nexus tablets to the latest version of Lollipop, while its existing flagship tablet — the Nexus 9 — is still stuck on Android 5.0.1.
