Facebook is no stranger to applications, and today the social networking giant has launched yet another one to add to the pot.
It’s called “Hello,” and it’s an app that’s meant to provide a bit more information about the people that might be calling you. With Hello, information that’s pulled from Facebook will help to identify an otherwise unknown caller. The app, which was created by Facebook’s Creative Labs, is currently available for Android only right now.
Facebook says that Hello will show the name behind the number when the call arrives, even if that number is not saved in the person’s contact list. Moreover, if that person has shared anything with the person on Facebook, that information will be shown as well.
Using Hello, users will be able to do a quick search for any person or business, too, with the ability to call the found results with just a single tap.
Blocking calls is easy as well, as Hello has settings equipped to automatically block frequently blocked numbers, specific numbers or other options to choose from. Users will be able to look over any blocked calls through a recent calls list as well, just to verify the numbers or identity.
Home is available right now in the Google Play Store as a free download, available below.
