Samsung has gone ahead and announced today that the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge will go up for pre-order in the United States on March 27, and hit the retail stores on April 10.
Both handsets will be available in 32, 64 and 128GB storage variants, and in three different colors: black, white and gold. Other unique colors of the handsets like green and blue will not be available in the US.
Carriers and retailers will be announcing their own pricing and availability dates at a later point.
“We have completely reimagined the Galaxy experience from the ground up by listening to what matters most to our customers,” said Gregory Lee, president and CEO of Samsung Electronics North America Headquarters. “The Galaxy S 6 and Galaxy S 6 edge are more than just beautiful – they’re better. We’ve improved the smartphone essentials – camera, battery, display – and redesigned the phone experience so our consumer and business users are empowered to do more.”
While AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon and U.S. Cellular will carry both Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, Boost Mobile, Cricket Wireless and MetroPCS will only carry the Galaxy S6.
Apart from the retail stores of carriers, the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge will also be available for purchase through Amazon.com, Costco, Samsung Experience Zone at Best Buy, Sam’s Club and other retailers.
It was just an hour ago that HTC announced that the pre-orders for the One M9 will begin from tomorrow while the handset will hit the retail stores on April 10.
