Less than two week since LG announced the original Watch Urbane, the company has gone ahead and announced its souped up version with LTE and NFC. The Watch Urbane LTE is also capable of making VoLTE based calls, and comes with upgraded internals. 

The watch comes with a beefy 700mAh battery, which is the largest ever in a smartwatch. While the 1.3-inch P-OLED display remains the same as the Watch Urbane, the RAM has been bumped to 1GB. Other specs of the watch include a Snapdragon 400 processor, a 9-axis gyroscope, barometer, GPS and a heart rate sensor. The watch also comes with NFC and supports NFC based mobile payments, which will work even without a smartphone. LG, however, did not reveal the list of supported partners and regions or how the feature will work.

Additionally, the Urbane LTE comes with three physical buttons on its right edge to easily navigate through the OS. LG’s press release also mentions that the Urbane LTE runs on a “proprietary OS.” It is likely that the watch is running webOS since it is quite similar to a watch that LG showcased with Audi at CES earlier this year. It will be compatible with all Android devices running KitKat or higher.

Like the Watch Urbane, the Urbane LTE comes with a stainless steel metal body that is corrosion resistant. It also has an IP67 rating making it waterproof and dust-proof. LG will be showcasing the Watch Urbane LTE at MWC next week, and will be offering it in Silver color.
