Sony Mobile sent out invitations to the German press last week for an event due to take place on the 25th of June. According to Xperia Blog, members of the French press have also started receiving invitations to an event, though one that takes place on the 4th of July.

Unlike the German invite, the French invite actually features a photo of a device. I’m going to assume it’s the long rumored Sony “Togari”, which will likely end up hitting the market as the Sony Xperia Z Ultra. What are the key specs? It’ll have a 6.44 inch 1080p screen, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800, and it’s supposed to be just 6.5 mm thick.

Why is Sony holding two separate events on two separate days in two separate countries? I’m not really sure. I actually know about a third event in Asia that I don’t even know if I’m allowed to talk about, so I’ll just close my mouth. But seriously, this is a very strange way to launch a device.
