There are rumors out there that say Samsung is going to unveil a refreshed Galaxy S4 that uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 chip. Said device has the model number “SHV-E330”, which means it’s meant for Korean operators, not Europe or the US.
Today, that phone has shown up on the DLNA certification page. It actually comes in three versions, SHV-E330S, SHV-E330K, and SHV-E330L, with each letter representing one of the three country’s wireless operators. The DLNA page specifically says that the L and K versions use Qualcomm’s MSM 8974 chipset, which is the internal model number for the Snapdragon 800.
Why would Samsung make a new GS4 with a new chip and only launch it in one country? Your guess is as good as mine, but this is Samsung we’re talking about here. They’ll make a trillion variants of their devices in order to eke out some more unit sales.
