Recently in Russia, Samsung’s Galaxy S4 officially received its update to Android 5.0 Lollipop. In other parts of the world, owners of the Galaxy S5 were not all that pleased.
For any of those individuals under Verizon Wireless’ flag in the United States who wasn’t all that happy with that particular development, the wait for the latest version of Android is finally coming to an end. Verizon Wireless has officially confirmed that the over the air rollout for Lollipop has just begun for the Galaxy S5, and that the update should be landing on devices soon.
As is par for the course with an over the air update, it could take some time before it lands on your device, so keep an eye out for the notification, or just head into Settings and check for the update manually.
As far as new features go, the update to Android 5.0 means the addition of Google’s new Material Design, new interactive lock screen notifications and an updated Recent Apps menu. Samsung also included a few new, brighter TouchWiz apps, too, just for good measure. The newest build for Android 5.0 on the Galaxy S5 will bring your device up to LRXLRX21T.G900VVRUBNLC.
