Xiaomi’s managed to dethrone Samsung as the number one smartphone vendor in China this year. Its growth this year was also fueled by its launch in other neighboring countries, including India which has already become the fastest growing market for the company. In 2015, the Chinese smartphone maker will expand to other new markets in Asia and surrounding regions and expects to sell at least 100 million smartphone unit in 2015. The company’s co-founder recently revealed that the Xiaomi will be unveiling its new flagship on January 15, with a new Redmi device being unveiled later today.
It was only late last month that Xiaomi raised US$1.1 billion on a valuation of US$45 billion.
