For owners of the Z Ultra Google Play edition from Sony, the wait or Android 5.0 Lollipop is quickly coming to an end.

Via the company’s public blog for the mobile division, an official confirmation that Android 5.0 Lollipop has begun its rollout to owners was made recently. In the announcement, Sony points out that the rollout is happening in stages, as these over the air (OTA) updates do, and that the wait time for the new software will depend on the region where your handset is located. However, Sony does stress the update is rolling out this week, so the newest version of Android should land on your handset soon.

Lollipop will bring an enhanced lock screen to the Z Ultra GPe, along with better notifications, longer battery life, and the Material Design aesthetic. It will also improve the performance of the handset, per Sony.

If you don’t own a Z Ultra GPe, but picked up another Xperia Z series handset instead, Sony says that the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop will land on all of those devices at some point soon, beginning in the early part of 2015.
