Google today announced an update for Keep that brings one of the most requested features to the service: the ability to share notes with your friends and family. The update also brings an easier way for searching through your notes by allowing you to filter them on attributes like note color, whether they have a reminder, image or audio etc.

Google has already enabled support for note sharing in the Keep’s Chrome app and website. You can share a note with anyone who has a Google account by simply typing in their email ID. Akin to Google Drive, you will be able to edit a note in real time and also see the changes made by the other person in real time.

While there are other note taking services out there that also support sharing of notes, Google’s Keep strength lies in its simplicity. The app itself is lightweight and allows you to start typing away notes as soon as you fire the app.

You can wait for the APK of Keep to be available on your device via the Play Store, or manually sideload the APK from here.
