Samsung today released the Galaxy Alpha in India for Rs 39,990. The Alpha is the first phone from Samsung to come with a metal chassis and frame, which gives it a much better in-hand feel than any other device the Korea giant has ever released in the past.
The Galaxy Alpha also packs in high-end specs in a body that is no bigger than the iPhone 6. The handset comes with a 4.7-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, 2GB RAM, 12MP rear camera, 2.1MP front-facing shooter, 32GB storage space, and a 1860mAh removable battery.
On the processor side, the Alpha comes with Samsung’s latest Exynos 5430 SoC — based on the 20nm fabrication process.
Like the Galaxy S5, the Galaxy Alpha also comes with a in-built fingerprint scanner in the home button, and a heart rate monitor. Unlike the former though, the Alpha does not feature any kind of IP rating.
On the software side, the handset runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat with all the software goodies as already seen on the Galaxy S5 including an Ultra Power Saving Mode, Private Mode and more.
The Galaxy Alpha will be available in black, gold, silver and white colors in India from the first week of October for Rs. 39,990.
