Punit Soni, VP of Product Management at Motorola, announced on his Google Plus page that Motorola will be bringing some of the new software features from the new Moto G and X to its older devices.

The catch here is that the company will only be bringing those software features, which will be supported by the hardware. Currently, it is not yet known which all features from the new Moto X and G have made the cut and will be available to their predecessors. (https://kumorisushi.com/)

Nevertheless, existing Moto X owners should not expect any of the new software features that rely on the IR sensors to land on their phone.

Oh, and if you were expecting Motorola to unveil a mini variant of the Moto X, stop dreaming. Punit confirmed that the company has no plans to release a smaller variant of its latest flagship.
