Text Expansion is a very handy feature to use especially on mobile devices. While there are quite a few text expansion apps available for Android, none of them operate on a system level because of lack of APIs.

Text Expansion module from developer mikmitch solves this problem by bringing native text expansion to Android. The Xposed module works across all the text input fields including Google Docs, Hangouts and more. However, it does not currently works with web browsers and other web views related text fields but the developer is working on bypassing this limit.

Another advantage of the Xposed module working on a system level is that the text expansion works on with all keyboards including the third party ones and the macro words can even be added to the system dictionary for faster use.

A slight catch with the module is that after a new word is added to the list, the device must be restarted for the changes to take effect.

Text Expansion Xposed module works with all Android devices running Ice Cream Sandwich or higher with Xposed framework installed.
