OnePlus has started rolling out a much-needed update for the One that fixes some of the major bugs plaguing the handset. This includes the widely spread ghost swipe issue, poor touch screen sensitivity issues and more.

The 33R update also fixes the terrible standby drain introduced in the Android 4.4.4 update, and in fact reduces the idle power drain level to lower than ever, which should lead to some improvement in battery life.

The new touch panel firmware included in this update should completely fix the random ghost swipe issue as well. I have seen a tremendous improvement in the touchscreen response of the One since I flashed a custom kernel on it a couple of days ago, which includes the new touch panel firmware. Sadly though, the some touchscreen sensitivity issues still remain.

The update should also fix the audio issue that a selected bunch of One owners where facing while playing games since the last update. Other changes include some minor bug-fixes and a major security update — CVE-2014-4943 — as reported by Android Police.

The OTA update is scheduled to go out from today, but you can always manually sideload the OTA update by downloading it from here.
