Pictures and details of HTC’s first 64-bit handset, which will carry the Desire branding have leaked online, courtesy of @upleaks. The leaked pictures clearly indicate that we are still looking at a prototype unit.
The handset, apparently codenamed A11, will sport a 4.7-inch FWVGA (854*480) screen, and will come with a 5MP camera in the rear. The highlight of the handset, however, is going to be its processor — the Qualcomm’s MSM8916 — which is among the company’s first 64-bit processors and consists of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.4GHz.
The A11 is expected to release with Android 4.4 KitKat and Sense 6, and will not be coming with HTC’s now famous BoomSound stereo speakers. (lsu79.org) HTC will also reportedly outsource the manufacturing of the device to CompalComm. It is also expected to make its way to Sprint in the United States.
Details about the handset’s price and release date are currently unknown, but the it should land before the holiday season, especially since Qualcomm had earlier stated that the first wave of low-to-mid range 64-bit Android devices would release towards the end of this year.
