Samsung’s Galaxy S5 Mini was officially announced on July 1, and has popped up for pre-order at some retailers along the way. For those who have been waiting to get their hands on this smaller variant of Samsung’s flagship device, the wait is finally coming to an end, with the manufacturer announcing a start date for shipments.
The smaller sibling is currently up for pre-order through Samsung’s website, but you can also pick it up through Phones 4u (and other retailers), if that’s more to your liking. It’s listed for £389.95 (about $660.59), and as noted by the site, will begin shipping to those who buy the device on August 7. You can pick between blue, black, gold and white.
As far as the specifications go, the Galaxy S5 Mini features a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display, with a resolution of 720p. Under the hood you’ll find a quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz, with 1.5GB of RAM, and 16GB of built-in storage. You can expand that memory with a microSD card, with support up to 64GB. On the back of the device there is an 8-megapixel camera, and on the front a 2.1MP shooter. The battery is measured at 2100mAh, and it is IP67-certified, which means it’s dust and water resistant.
