At the end of June, Samsung wanted to make sure that they left the month with plenty to talk about. The best way to do that is to announce a bunch of devices at the same time, and that’s where four new “budget handsets” come into play. Missing from the announcement was a launch date (or window) and pricing, but at least part of that has been fixed now.

Thanks to a report from SamMobile, based on a release made by Samsung Netherlands, we now have the price tags for three of the four new handsets. Perhaps it won’t come as a surprise to most, but based on the internals within the devices, the connected price tags seem to be a bit high. For instance, the Galaxy Core II, will cost €179, or about $244. The Galaxy Ace 4 will set someone back €219, or about $299. The Galaxy Young 2 is the cheapest of the three, set at €99, or about $135.

Motorola wasn’t the first company out there to set lower-than-expected prices for reasonable devices, but considering the company’s lineup and price tags, it is still surprising to see Samsung pricing these devices as such. There’s a chance that they see a price drop whenever they land in international markets, though, so maybe that’s something to hold out for. No final release dates have been provided just yet.
