LG G3 goes on sale in the UK, pricing starts at £480

The LG G3 was slated to roll out globally from June 27, but major retailers and carriers in the UK have started selling LG’s latest flagship a day early. The handset is in stock and available for purchase from O2, Three and Carphone Warehouse, with SIM-free pricing starting from £479.95. For those who’ve got their eyes on the G Watch, Three is offering a £70 discount on the retail price of LG’s first Android Wear smartwatch

The LG G3 is among the world’s first smartphones to feature a QHD (2560×1440) display (and the first from a major manufacturer), and also comes with other industry first features such as a laser sensor for quick autofocus on the 13-megapixel OIS+ rear camera. Other specs include a 5.5-inch True IPS+ LCD screen, a quad-core Snapdragon 801 CPU clocked at 2.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage expandable via a microSD slot, and a 3,000 mAh battery.

On the software front, you get Android 4.4.2 KitKat with a flatter, cleaner version of LG’s Optimus UI, with features such as Knock Code, a user adjustable keyboard, and Smart Notice, which can remind users to perform certain tasks like turning on Wi-Fi based on their location (home, office etc) or notify to delete certain apps that the users haven’t opened in a while.
