While it is true that Android Wear is geared toward contextual notifications and quick access to certain functions, there’s no reason why you couldn’t use that new screen on your wrist to pass the time without having to pull up your phone. After all, if you just have a minute or two to kill, it may be more practical to raise your wrist than fish a phone out of a huge bag or purse. That’s why I have gathered 5 great Android Wear games that you can download and play.
Flopsy Droid
If there’s one game that lands itself well to the small screen of a watch, its low processing power and limited interactions, it’s Flappy Bird. Flopsy Droid shamelessly copies the famous game while substituting the bird with a flying Android robot. It’s cute, hip, and you’re certain to get a lot of attention from everyone around you once they see what you are playing.

Tic Tac Wear
Tic Tac Toe. On your wrist. Need I say more? Alright, I will. There are several Android Wear Tic Tac Toe games, but I have found this one to be the toughest. You can either play against an AI — just try to beat the darn thing, you can’t! — or a second player. Yes, you will get weird looks when people see you and someone else tapping frantically on your watch, almost as if you were preparing nuclear launch codes, but what is Android Wear for, other than stunning people with weird — and awesome — behavior?

Swipe True
Have a few free minutes to kill? Want to have fun while exercising your brain matter? Don’t want to take your phone out? Have an Android Wear watch? (Sick of these questions?) Then you need Swipe True. It’s essentially a math game with an equation and two different answers. You have to swipe the correct answer, as fast as possible. The game also packs Google Play Games integration so you can compare your results and compete against friends and worldwide players.

Android Wear 2048
2048 is one of the most popular games of the last year. Despite being a logic and puzzle game, with lots of strategy and planning involved, it has taken off like a storm, mostly because it is addictive, competitive, and you always think, “I can do better.” Android Wear 2048 brings the game to your watch, with the same mechanics you are used to. You simply swipe to move the numbers around the screen and try to combine them into larger and larger numbers. A double tap shows you your current score.

Swip3
Swip3 is a match-3 game that also suits the small screen and limited interaction paradigm of your smartwatch. You simply swipe to move the colored blocks around and try to match 3 together. You can create bigger combos if you plan ahead as well. Swip3 has Google Play Games leaderboards and lets you compare your performance to other players.
