For owners of the latest iteration of Motorola’s Moto X Pure Edition, good news is on the horizon: Android 6.0 Marshmallow is on the way.

Thanks to information provided by Motorola’s David Schuster, we now know that Motorola has plans to release the Marshmallow update for the Moto X Pure Edition in the next few weeks. While no finalized dates have been provided just yet, it’s good to see that Motorola has it at least penciled in on the schedule. Schuster was also more than willing to provide details about the update and what it will bring to Moto X Pure Edition owners:

  • A new Memory Manager that lets you check memory usage of all your installed apps
  • Volume controls have been greatly improved
  • Do not disturb button has been added to the quick settings panel for easy access.
  • System UI Tuner will appear in the settings menu at the very bottom once enabled. It provides a few simple UI tweaks

  • Doze is a battery management feature that detects when your device is not in use and it will automatically go into a deep sleep state which saves your battery.
