OnePlus had announced earlier this week that it will be selling limited units of the OnePlus Two directly to consumers in Paris through Colette’s boutique on August 11 without any invite.

However, the company had mentioned in its announcement that the handset will only be available for sale for a limited period of time and in limited quantities.

What OnePlus, however, failed to mention is that it was only going to have 20 units of the handset up for sale. According to a OnePlus fan who was at the store, there were more than 200 people who queued up to purchase the handset, but only 20 of them were able to get their hands on the device. He says that the shop ran out of stock as soon as they opened up for sale.

Carl Pei, OnePlus co-founder, had also promised that invites will be handed out to people who queued up to check out the OnePlus 2 in Paris, but that did not happen as well. Apparently though, everyone who turned up has been put on a mailing list and they will receive an invite from the company next week.

OnePlus is known for their over the top marketing moves, but the company should not have caused so much frustration and trouble to its fan when it only had a handful of units of the device up for sale.
